Josiah Queen’s new album, Mt. Zion, is out today via Capitol Records/Capitol Christian Music Group (CCMG). In the lead-up to its release, he shared a string of singles, including “I’ll Fly Away” (feat. Benjamin William Hastings), which entered the top 5 on the iTunes Top Songs chart and “Dusty Bibles,” which has appeared on six Billboard charts and within Spotify’s Viral 50 in 18 countries. Mt. Zion is his first album since signing to a major label and the follow-up to 2024’s The Prodigal, his independently released, chart-topping debut album. Listen to Mt. Zion HERE. Exclusive vinyl, signed CDs and fan packs are available HERE.
The 22-year-old Tampa native’s October 27 album release show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium sold out in under 48 hours. Limited tickets are available HERE for his November 1 show at Yuengling Center in Tampa.
Today, Queen shared the official video for “Watch Your Mouth,” which he shot in Utah’s Zion National Park with director Rashun Ludgood. View HERE. The song is a rollicking call to embrace grace instead of dwelling on one’s own inadequacies. Queen wrote “Watch Your Mouth” with his brother, Elijah Queen, Jared Marc and Romeo Barela. Marc – who co-wrote the RIAA-certified Gold single “The Prodigal” with Josiah – produced.
Queen teams up with GRAMMY® winner Brandon Lake on “Can’t Steal My Joy” and is joined by Gable Price on “Thief In The Night.” He also collaborated with producers John Michael Howell, Zac Lawson, Jacob Sooter and Hank Bentley on Mt. Zion. Check out Queen performing the album’s lead-off track, “Yesterday Is Dead,” on “Fox & Friends Weekend” HERE. See below for track listing.
“These songs come from a heart of wanting to be in God’s presence,” explains Josiah Queen. “The Old Testament talks about Mount Sinai – where God’s presence was. The Israelites were hiding and were too scared to come close to God’s presence there. There’s also a place called Mt. Zion. Mt. Zion represents a place of God’s presence and glory. It’s a place that we’re all welcomed into and we don’t have to hide our sin and shame from God – but a place where we can enter His presence.”
He adds, “I wrote these songs out of place of “here’s my heart, Lord – I don’t want to hide anything from you’ and also out of gratitude that God welcomes us into His presence. My hope is that anyone listening to the album would come to an understanding that God is close to us. He’s not only in Heaven or distant from us, but He’s here and welcoming us into His presence.”
Named one of Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Artists To Watch For 2024 and praised by Billboard for his “acoustic-based, Americana-leaning sound,” Queen has amassed over 400 million combined global streams already – including over 265 million U.S. streams for The Prodigal, which recently re-entered the top five of Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart after having debuted at No. 1 in June of 2024. After completing a global headline tour in the spring of 2025, Queen performed as special guest on the U.S. leg of Phil Wickham and Brandon Lake’s summer arena tour.
