PLANO, Texas (September 2, 2025) – “Duck Dynasty’s” Jase Robertson reveals how a prank phone call while he was in high school moved him from beyond pride to unashamedly sharing Jesus in the new White Chair film released today from the global storytelling ministry, I Am Second.
The short film available on iamsecond.com (or via YouTube above) coincides with the theatrical re-release of “The Blind,” which follows the story behind the “Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson and his struggles before his redemption through faith. I Am Second partnered with Fathom Entertainment for this special re-release that honors the man who built a life rooted in faith, family and ducks.
Jase is the second son to Phil and Kay Robertson. In the White Chair film, he recounts his early childhood and confesses how his father’s alcoholism was a formative force in his feelings of loneliness and anger as a young man.
“Even after my dad gave his life to Christ and everything changed, the damage had already been done,” Jase said. “I wanted to be better than the family that I started in.”
Jase said he was angry and judgmental. He began living with a sense of self-righteousness, trying to prove he was better than those around him. Only when he was reading his Bible and stumbled upon a passage about the Pharisees did he realize that like them, he was prideful. It convicted him to begin a journey of becoming a disciple of Jesus, which he notes wasn't easy.
“I thought being a disciple of Jesus was just not doing wrong,” he said. “Well, that’s what I was doing beforehand. I was trying not to do wrong, not because I loved God, I just wanted to show you that I think I’m better than you. So, what really lead me to humility is when I realized I need to start getting uncomfortable for Jesus.”
Even though he was committed to obeying the Lord, as a high schooler, he felt an unease about talking with others but prayed for God to give him the strength to share the Gospel. Shortly after, he received a prank phone call that changed everything. With a stranger on the other line and nothing to lose, Jase boldly shared Jesus. The experience again convicted him, and his fears and judgmental spirit lifted.
“The more I studied and prayed I realized God has a plan for me, and it’s not the plan that I would have chosen,” Jase remarked.
In 2012, his life was forever changed when the Robertson family’s reality TV show “Duck Dynasty” became a popular cultural sensation. The series ran for 11 seasons until 2017 and returned in 2025 as “Duck Dynasty: The Revival.”
Years later, Jase felt convicted to start a podcast and host a Bible study. Today, he co-hosts the “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast, which has inspired millions.
“Me being obedient to what God wants me to do for Him, it just unleashed my capabilities in Christ,” said Jase. “God took my biggest weakness, the thing I was most fearful of, which was basically being outward spoken to anybody, and He turned it into His strength.”
