MONTREAL, SEPTEMBER 2025 – Following a successful first leg of his
High Blooming Ritual Tour, Canadian
art-rock visionary Alex Henry Foster has been drawing increasing attention, with media noting that the venues he plays are
“getting fuller and bigger” with each show. The tour recently celebrated a
sold-out performance in Cologne on November 14th, reflecting both the growing fanbase and the undeniable energy of his live performances.
This milestone comes as Foster’s creative output gains further recognition on both sides of the Atlantic. . Outlets such as
La Presse,
Showbizz &
Journal L'Express have highlighted his recent success, while
SOCAN Magazine mentioned:
"Three-time nominees [ADISQ Gala] include Ariane Roy, Elisapie, Ariane Moffatt, 2Frères, Alex Henry Foster, Aliocha Schneider, Billie du Page, and Souldia", highlighting Foster’s 2024 albums
Kimiyo and
A Measure of Shape and Sounds—the latter nominated in the
“Popular Album of the Year” category.
Foster says: "The distinction is even more meaningful because, beyond the significant recognition it carries and the fact that it’s a sort of homecoming for me, the nature of both albums was so significantly personal, as they emerged from a particularly distressing period of my life, when I needed to learn how to survive a life-threatening double cardiac graft surgery followed by the loss of my dog MacKaye, who died after a long battle against a very rare cancer."
While new released album
A Nightfall Ritual is part of the
GAMIQ 2025 long list in the
Post-Punk/Post-Rock category, Foster is currently gearing up for his upcoming musical endeavors and has already shared a writing-session version of the song
In the Valley of the Sun with members of his club. The track is also available on a collector’s lathe-cut vinyl, which comes as part of the membership.

TICKETS INFOAlex Henry Foster (AHF) is a Canadian musician, author, producer, and composer, formerly the frontman for Juno Awards nominee post-rock/noise band Your Favorite Enemies (YFE).
Hailed as an “unforeseen DIY artist” by Rolling Stone Magazine, Alex Henry Foster released his first solo album, “Windows in the Sky”, in Canada in 2018 and globally in 2020. Mostly written during an exile from himself in Tangier following his father’s passing, “Windows in the Sky” is a “dreamy blast of post-rock” (NME) that “brings to my mind artists like Hammock and Asche & Spencer, with heaping helpings of Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky” (BrooklynVegan).
Fierce human rights advocate, Foster has been a very active public speaker over the last decade, commenting on racism, the proliferation of street gangs – in the midst of which he spent his teenage years — the resurgence of populism and extremism. He teamed up with Amnesty International and War Child for several campaigns initiating sensibilization awareness towards children soldiers and also created The Hope Project following the Tohoku Tsunami of 2011.
Foster spent 2024 touring Europe and America around the release of two albums and an EP. He just came back from Tangier, Morocco, where he spent 4 months working on an upcoming release.
