Today (10.3), GRAMMY and CMA Award-nominated singer-songwriter Drew Parker is stepping fearlessly into a new season -- one led by faith, truth and spiritual renewal -- with the release of his Christian-Country debut, “BLAME JESUS.”
Listen to “BLAME JESUS” here:
Produced by Jacob Rice (Luke Bryan, HARDY) and written by Parker alongside genre heavyweights Ray Fulcher (Zac Brown Band, Riley Green) and Dan Wilson (Taylor Swift, The Chicks), the guitar-driven track blends the grit of his country roots with the heart of spiritual conviction. Anchored by its striking lyric – “If you’re wondering why I can’t be who I was, blame Jesus” – it traces his personal journey of surrender, renewed identity and deeper purpose, all while paying tribute to the unmistakable sound that shaped him.
“Ten years ago, I packed up everything I had and moved to Nashville chasing a dream,” said Drew. “I’ve written songs, played shows and lived out moments I never could’ve imagined. But over the last year, God has been writing a brand-new chapter in my life – one I never saw coming.”
For years, Parker, a force in the country music industry, penned hits for some of industry’s biggest names, including Luke Combs, Blake Shelton, Zac Brown Band and more. But even at the height of his success, he felt a quiet ache for something deeper to ground him. After years of wrestling with that unrest, he finally leaned into an undeniable pull of faith.
Parker recently released a deeply-personal short film titled Hanging Up a Hat (9.15) – a visual reflection on his ten-year journey in Nashville, the pressure to “make it” and the unexpected peace that came with surrendering to a bold, new calling. The short marks a turning point in both his life and music, capturing his new sound and path rooted in faith and alive with purpose.
