The Bobfest sequel Light The Dark festival will once again bring back Christian rock and metal on the map. The festival will as usual be held at Arbis in Norrköping, Sweden. Arbis is one of the finest rock clubs in Sweden where major rock acts like Refused, The Hellacopters, Dark Tranquility and Marduk among others recently have played.
When some others bring darkness to the venue, Light The Dark comes with a bright shining light, representing hope and salvation through Jesus Christ.
This year the festival has an impressive lineup were the former Bloodgood singer Les Carlsen (US) will headline the Friday night side by side by bands like Chotic Resemblance (US), Bethesda (with members from Veni Domine) (SE), A Life Aligned (NL), Nine Orders (SE) and a comeback from the Swedish blues rock masters Cornerstone (SE).
On Saturday Wytch Hazel (UK) will be headlining, with Reign Of Glory (US) as a second headliner. Reign Of Glory will perform with the former Yngwie Malmsteen lead singer Mark Boals as their frontman. That will surely be a moment metal fans will like. On Saturday there will also be high class performances from Battled (NL), Silence The Echo (FI) (with members from bands like Divine Fire, Essence Of Sorrow, Random Eyes, Ocean Dark etc.), The Hero and Opus Irae.
For the first time Light The Dark are also introducing a small side stage. At that stage bands like Park 7 (FI), Sawol (Fi), Since The Death (SE), Wedding Party (US/SE), At The Mountain (DK) and several new and smaller bands like the Swedish acts Catch Me Falling, Vanishing Conspiracy and Safeground.
Beside the program at the club, a church service will also be held. At that you will be able to listen to teachings, share communion and worship together with At The Mountain (DK).
If you travel from another country it’s very easy to travel to Norrköping. If you travel through Stockholm Arlanda Airport there is a train station at the airport with a train that will take you all the way to Norrköping. The same if you fly through Copenhagen in Denmark. If you fly through Amsterdam you can fly directly to Linköping, the neighbour city to Norrköping. When you have arrived in Norrköping everything is within walking distance.
