Faith-based singer-songwriter Brenique Adams introduces her new EP Oasis, a five-track release shaped by reflection, faith, and growth. Blending pop, gospel, soul, and R&B, the project offers a calm, soul-centered listening experience anchored by the focus track “Light”.
With Oasis, Brenique leans into intention. Each song feels like a moment of pause, drawing listeners into themes of restoration, identity, and hope without losing a sense of warmth and accessibility.
“Oasis represents a fertile ground in the middle of a desert”, Brenique explains. “It symbolises renewal, restoration, and hope in difficult seasons of life. The project reflects the promise of transformation, where despair turns into joy. Each song is written to uplift and encourage, offering reassurance that even in the most trying times, there’s hope for tomorrow.”
That message is at the heart of “Light”, an anthemic track written during a period of low self-esteem. What began as a personal outlet became something broader in scope.
“Writing it helped me change my perspective and reconnect with my sense of worth”, she says. “It’s a message to anyone who’s ever doubted themselves, encouraging them to rise above fear, believe in who they are, and keep moving forward.”
Musically, “Light” moves from a gentle, reflective opening into a wide, soaring chorus, combining pop sensibility with subtle rock energy and gospel-rooted vocal strength. It captures both struggle and release, mirroring the wider themes woven throughout the EP.
Born Temitope Adams, Brenique discovered her voice early. At eight years old, her aunt recognised her gift, setting her on a path shaped by music from the very beginning. Growing up in a home filled with sound, she drew inspiration from artists like Whitney Houston, later expanding her palette with influences such as Tori Kelly, India Arie, and Madison Ryann Ward. Learning guitar marked a turning point, giving her a new way to shape her songwriting and define her sound.
Her journey into the spotlight began in 2020, when a series of online covers gained viral attention and introduced her to a global audience. She followed with her debut single “Fearless” in 2021, establishing her voice as one rooted in encouragement and self-belief. In 2022, she launched Sessions with Brenique, a platform built to bring together creatives across music, visual art, and spoken word, with recent sessions highlighting her commitment to collaboration and community.
After briefly stepping away in 2023 to complete a master’s degree in international business in the UK, Brenique returned with a renewed sense of clarity. Her 2026 single “Gratitude” marked the beginning of this new chapter, leading into the release of Oasis. The EP brings together collaborations with producers from Nigeria and the UK, with much of the recording taking place in her home studio alongside sessions in Manchester.
Across Oasis, Brenique creates space for stillness as much as uplift, allowing each track to unfold naturally while staying grounded in her message of hope and faith.
