NASHVILLE, TENN. / SEATTLE, WASH. (MAY 07, 2026) Singer-songwriter, author, and worship leader Tasha Layton is inviting audiences into one of the most personal seasons of her life with the premiere of a new short film inspired by her latest single, “Meet Me In The Valley.” The film offers an intimate look at Layton’s journey into stillness, surrender, and spiritual renewal as she stepped away from the noise of everyday life to seek a deeper connection with God.

Earlier this year, Layton spent three days alone in Death Valley National Park in California, home to the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level. What began as a personal retreat quickly became a transformative experience marked by reflection, healing, and faith. The 30-minute film captures the raw moments and revelations that unfolded during her time in the desert, bringing to life the heart behind her radio single, “Meet Me In The Valley.” The short film was directed by Andrew Abajian.

"For the last year or so, whenever I prayed, I kept hearing God say, 'Get low,'" shares Tasha Layton. "To me, that meant humbly bringing my offering, entering His presence with humility, and being willing to lay anything down if He asked me to. Then came the song 'Meet Me in the Valley,' and the connection could not have been clearer. In that moment, I felt compelled to get low once again, so I made the decision to go to Death Valley to reflect on my past and consider my future. What God did there was astounding, and He met me there."

Originally featured on Layton’s latest studio album, Life In Me, this song gives the listeners a fresh take on the deeply personal anthem. Written by Layton, her husband Keith Everette Smith, Jacob Sooter, and Meredith Andrews, the song serves as a reminder that God faithfully meets people in their lowest valleys and never leaves them alone in their struggles.

The short film premiere was celebrated last week with an exclusive gathering at the new Museum of Christian & Gospel Music. Friends, family, and members of the media came together to support Layton and the project, including fellow artists Terrian, Christy Nockels, Jon Reddick, and Madison Watkins.

ABOUT TASHA LAYTON: Since first captivating radio audiences in 2020, Tasha Layton has become one of Christian music’s most celebrated female vocalists. Her full-length debut, How Far, delivered multiple chart-topping hits, including the No. 1 title track “How Far,” the No. 1 smash “Look What You’ve Done,” and her breakthrough single “Into The Sea (It’s Gonna Be OK).” In 2023, her song “Never” ranked among the top Christian songs of the year, and in 2024, she earned her third No. 1 radio single with “Worship Through It (feat. Chris Brown).” In Spring 2025, Layton released her first live-recorded worship album, Worship Through It Live. Her holiday projects—This Is Christmas and the GMA Dove Award-nominated This Is Christmas (Live From Fisher Center)—have also become beloved seasonal classics.
Layton’s newest album, Life In Me, was released in October 2025 and features a dynamic collection of songs reflecting her walk with Christ, with collaborations from Chris Brown, Rachael Lampa, Colton Dixon, and Tim Hughes. Before launching her solo career, Layton appeared on Season 9 of American Idol and spent four years as a backing vocalist for pop superstar Katy Perry. She is also a published author with titles including the guided prayer journal Boundless: Moving Freedom From Your Head To Your Heart, Look What You’ve Done, and the children’s book A Big and Boundless Love. Tasha and her husband, Keith, share two children, Levi and Lyla, and reside on a farm just outside of Nashville.

ABOUT BEC RECORDINGS: BEC Recordings exists at the intersection of faith and culture. For more than 25 years, the label has amplified artists whose music has reached beyond church walls — onto Billboard charts, into film and TV, across major retail campaigns, and through sold-out festival grounds. Today, that mission continues with a current roster that includes Cory Asbury, Tasha Layton, Gracie Binion, Jordan St. Cyr and several others — artists carrying the torch lit by BEC alumni like Jeremy Camp, Hawk Nelson, Kutless, 7eventh Time Down, and The O.C. Supertones, who got their start or built their careers with the label. BEC has proven that music rooted in conviction can also dominate the mainstream conversation — and after all these years, that legacy shows no signs of slowing down.
