Seth Davey Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Fund New Project, "Dance in the Dark"
"The devil's got a thousand phantoms
But God has given us an anthem"
Seth had this to say about the project:
"Friends, I'm so excited to continue work on a new concept record that I'm calling a "rock opera" because it tells the story of pilgrims straining at the midnight hour, under dense and heavy darkness, making their way in the footsteps of Christ, from milepost to milepost, overcoming the devil's phantoms with gospel anthems. We've all been there, haven't we? When some shadow of death overwhelms our countenance, and we, like Peter of old, see those waves rising all around us, and we fail to fix our eyes on the permanent and immutable form of our wounded Savior before us, but then a psalm of praise lifts us up again? That's why this album is not for mere hearing alone. It is a challenge to join in, to sing along, and to add your own strain to the choir of voices. This is a callout to all God's redeemed pilgrims, to all those whose names have been etched into the wounds of Christ's Passion, to clap our hands and stomp our feet and lift a strained hallelujah as a battle hymn against the forces of darkness. To turn our stumbling into stomping and our sighing into singing, knowing that our strain, our melody, our little spark of faith against the bleakness of a fallen world starts a fire that hell's armies can't put out.
But as the vision grows, the cost grows with it. My wife just brought our fourth child into the world, beautiful little Selah, so we can use all the help we can get to bring this record to life without going into deeper debt. Please follow the Kickstarter link, listen to the new single, read the story behind the album, and consider chipping in. Thank you.
Blessings in Christ,
Seth"
