DAYTON, OH — July 14, 2026 - Ohio-based alt pop rock duo Dragons & Astronauts today announced the simultaneous release of their highly anticipated full-length album, Broken Parables, and its companion book, Music And God: The Broken Parable of Dragons & Astronauts. In a powerful demonstration of purpose, 100% of the proceeds from this joint project will be donated to the AKC Canine Health Foundation to fund vital canine epilepsy research.
Broken Parables continues the duo's evolution as an independent voice in the alternative rock scene, delivering raw, emotionally charged songs that explore themes of faith, struggle, reconciliation, and purpose. The album arrives as a powerful follow-up to their previous releases, including the full-length 11:28 and the Music And God EPs.
"God can use broken people to do beautiful things," the band shared. "Broken Parables feels like the most honest and complete work we've ever made. Pairing the album with the book allows us to share not just the music, but the real story behind it — the brokenness, the grace, and the hope that fuels everything we do."
The accompanying book, Music And God: The Broken Parable of Dragons & Astronauts, acts as a memoir of dissonance, grace, and the in-between. Part backstage tour and part spiritual manifesto, the book offers an intimate look at the band's journey through a fractured friendship, a subsequent falling out, and their ultimate reconciliation. Written for music lovers, dreamers, and spiritual wanderers, the text explores navigating internal battles ("Dragons") while reaching for a faith that feels light-years away ("Astronauts").
By dedicating all proceeds to the AKC Canine Health Foundation, Aaron Cheadle and Josh Vest aim to turn their personal exploration of struggle and healing into tangible support for canine health. Both the album and book are available immediately. Music And God can be purchased as a $0.99 Kindle book on Amazon, as well as in paperback and hardcover formats. Physical paperbacks are also available on the official Dragons & Astronauts Bandcamp page, where fans can purchase the book separately or as part of an exclusive CD bundle.

About Dragons & Astronauts
Dragons & Astronauts are an Ohio-based alt pop rock duo creating music that is honest, anthemic, and unapologetically rooted in faith. Formed by vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Josh Vest and guitarist/vocalist Aaron Cheadle, the band draws from personal experiences of struggle, redemption, and spiritual growth to craft songs that resonate far beyond the church walls. Their dynamic songwriting blends '90s alternative and pop-rock influences with thoughtful, faith-centered storytelling.
