LOS ANGELES — Bedroom pop artist Shelltown Paradise, the solo moniker of singer, songwriter, and producer Salvador Baca, has announced the release of his deeply compelling new single, "In The Fall," hitting all major streaming platforms today.

Blending an intimate, dreamy aesthetic with the driving melodic sensibilities of 1980s alternative icons like The Cure and modern indie staples like The 1975, Shelltown Paradise creates a unique sonic landscape: honest worship music born right out of a bedroom home studio.

Written, produced, and entirely tracked by Baca on an iPad Pro, "In The Fall" marks a major evolutionary step for the project. To bridge the gap between lo-fi intimacy and radio-ready production, Baca partnered with acclaimed mixing engineer Brian K. Fisher, renowned for shaping the sound of today's top mainstream bedroom pop artists. Fisher's professional touch gives the track a highly competitive radio edge while beautifully preserving its distinct indie DNA, delivering a final sound that Baca describes as "intimate, honest, dreamy, and introspective."

Lyrically, "In The Fall" doesn't shy away from the complexities of human frailty. Inspired by a stark acknowledgment of a broken world, the song leans into the tension of searching for a savior amidst personal doubt and cultural isolation.

"We are living in the fall of Adam," Baca shares. "The despair, confusion, and feeling of being lost or abandoned — it's something I see in so many people every day. This song looks to encompass that conversion, yet doubt, right where many of us actually live. Like David did in the Psalms, it's about laying out all the hurt and confusion, and praising God through it all."

The very identity of Shelltown Paradise is rooted in legacy and a vast appreciation for musical history. The project's name serves as a dual tribute to the two San Diego neighborhoods his parents grew up in — Shelltown and Paradise Hills. Raised on a steady diet of classic Hispanic hits, '80s anthems, and '90s rap, Baca conceptualized the project in 2022 with a simple, disruptive question: "What if there was worship music that sounded like The Cure?"

Ultimately, Shelltown Paradise aims to dismantle the idea that people need to have their lives completely sorted out before approaching God.

"God meets you how you are, and where you are," says Baca. "You don't have to leave your baggage at the door. Bring it with you, present it with your worship, even if it's half-hearted. Showing up is half the battle, and God is never disappointed in that."
