Today (7.31), fresh off her 2026 GMA Dove Awards nominations for New Artist of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year (Jamie MacDonald), and Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year ("Left It In The River"), chart-topping singer-songwriter and Capitol CMG artist Jamie MacDonald releases 'Left It In The River [Reimagined],' a four track collection that breathes new life into her career-defining 12-week No. 1 song "Left It In the River," which was named the K-LOVE Song of the Year for 2026.

"I'm so excited that these three versions of Left It In The River are finally out in the world," said MacDonald. "This project means so much to me because each version holds a different piece of my heart. The Soul Version, arranged by my incredible musical director Danny, brings a whole new depth and emotion to the song. The Live Version captures one of the best nights of my life -- my sold-out hometown show in Nashville on my very first headline tour. The Backyard Version is just me and my band, stripped back and simple, the way the song feels at its core. I hope people take the time to listen to all three because each one tells the story in a unique way, and I can't wait to hear which version connects with them the most."
Written by MacDonald alongside Jonathan Gamble (Leanna Crawford, Seph Schlueter) and Colby Wedgeworth (The Maine, Jordan Feliz), "Left It In The River" became the defining song of MacDonald's breakout year. Praised for her "soulful" sound (Billboard), MacDonald's powerhouse vocals and the anthem's message of laying down guilt, shame, and burdens in exchange for something greater than yourself helped propel the award-winning song to more than 93.8 million lifetime streams, 12 weeks at No. 1 on Christian radio, and a spot on Spotify's Viral US 50 chart. Now, 'Left It In The River [Reimagined]' puts a kaleidoscope spin to the track with three new interpretations: a grooving soul version that takes listeners into the rehearsal room, a warm and easygoing backyard session, and a live performance of the track recorded during her sold out Nashville show during her first-ever headline Tour, alongside the original recording.
The EP follows a series of major career milestones for the Caro, Michigan native, who released her self-titled debut album on January 23. Since then, MacDonald earned her first No. 1 across the Billboard Christian AC, Mediabase Christian AC, and Mediabase Activator Christian AC charts, was named a "2026 Artist to Watch" by Spotify and Amazon Music, landed a Dove Award Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year nomination, and delivered both the biggest debut album streaming launch by a female Christian artist and the largest debut album streaming launch in Capitol CMG history. Her debut radio single, "Desperate," set a record for most stations spinning on impact date in Christian radio history and reached the No. 1 spot on multiple charts for seven consecutive weeks in April of 2025. Songs including "Left It In The River," "Desperate" and "A Million Chances" have established her as one of the genre's fastest-rising new voices, leading to her debut appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show earlier this year.
This fall, MacDonald will embark on her Left It In The River Tour, bringing more than 18 headline dates to cities including New York City, Kansas City, MO and Charlotte, NC before wrapping in Flint, MI, headlining her hometown venue for the first time in her career. She is also currently performing co-headline dates with Josh Baldwin. For more info, visit: jamiemacdonaldmusic.com.
