Band Reeves brothers Jeramy and Cody Reeves release their debut Centricity Music album, How To Forgive, today (Aug. 21). The recording is available now at all streaming and digital outlets from https://bandreeves.lnk.to/howtoforgiveWE.
As husbands, fathers and sons, the Palestine, Texas-based brothers have come to terms with what it means to embrace grace over guilt and humility over pride. How To Forgive is an evolving picture of what this looks like, sharing their experience in a blend of acoustic-rooted storytelling, impeccable harmonies and faith-filled country music.
This type of authentic surrender is especially felt in the project's final benediction, "Hold On To Jesus." Band Reeves co-penned the poignant album closer with David Leonard and Molly Kate Kestner shortly after beginning their partnership with Centricity, while holding an equal measure of excitement and uncertainty. Since then, they have discovered that faith is built one 'yes' at a time.
"We're not called to figure tomorrow out," Jeramy asserts. "We're called to say 'yes' today, and that's what a life of following Jesus looks like."
"Hold Onto Jesus" chorus:
We're gonna hold onto Jesus
Hold on with all we've got
We're gonna take our days one step at a time
We're gonna do this together
It's worth the sacrifice
When there's something sweeter on the other side
He's been everything that we have ever needed
We're gonna hold onto Jesus
Along with "Hold Onto Jesus," How To Forgive shares a dozen handcrafted songs about real, everyday life. "Love You To Death" emphasizes the way Jesus showed ultimate forgiveness on a cross while "Devil Drive," which Jeramy and Cody co-wrote with Walker Hayes and Kyle Williams, was inspired by a friend sentenced to prison, whose story displays the hope of unconditional mercy.
The album's "Big Shoes" is a sentimental ode to the Reeves patriarch, a lifelong bivocational minister. "He's the man I want to be," Cody says. "My dad modeled what it looked like to be a godly husband and a godly father, how to take care of your wife and provide for your family. He also really instilled the value of hard work in us."
"That Old Man" plays like a prequel to "Big Shoes," reflecting on a lineage tainted by addiction and wanting nothing to do with Jesus until one man, the brothers' grandfather, made a decision to genuinely follow the Lord. "We want people to know that no matter where you come from or what your family line looks like, a son doesn't have to be like his father," Jeramy offers. "You can be the first one in your family to break the chain."
Additional highlights on the album include "If I Didn't Have You," the harmony-filled "Outrun You," the faith-and-values anthem "My Country," and "Front Porch Church," which emphasizes the importance of starting the day in God's Word.

About Band Reeves
Band Reeves is the musical partnership of brothers Jeramy and Cody Reeves, whose blend of country storytelling and Gospel truth has resonated with audiences across the country. Raised in Palestine, Texas, as preacher's kids, the brothers learned early about faith, family, hard work and redemption.
Before signing their first label deal with Centricity Music, Band Reeves spent years building a loyal following through authentic songs inspired by everyday life, rural roots and a deep dependence on God. Their music reflects a life where blue-collar living, family dinners, front porch conversations and worship all intersect.
Today, the brothers continue to share songs shaped by real experiences, real struggles and the grace of a God who still restores what seems broken.
