NASHVILLE, Tenn. / LONDON, England (AUGUST 31, 2026) Acclaimed worship leader and songwriter Tim Hughes releases "Make A Way (Live)." Recorded live at Gas Street Church in Birmingham, England with Integrity Music, marking his first new solo music in more than a decade and having been stirred by years of planting, pastoring and leading the local church.
Written by Hughes alongside Brian Johnson, Jenn Johnson, Ben Fielding and Nick Herbert, "Make A Way" was created for congregational worship and speaks to trusting God in the middle of disappointment and uncertainty. Rather than offering easy answers, the song holds the tension between hope and suffering while declaring that God remains faithful and ultimately has the final word.
"Make A Way' was born from the experiences and feelings we have between faith and disappointment," shares Tim Hughes. "We believe in a God who still moves mountains, even when life doesn't unfold the way we expect. My hope is this song helps people keep singing those truths over their lives, their families, and their churches."
The heart of the song is shaped by real stories within Hughes' church community and the experience as a pastor of walking alongside people through both joy and profound difficulty over years. Hughes has a renewed perspective and is writing songs for the Church to sing.
Known for writing some of the most influential worship songs of the past two decades, including "Here I Am To Worship," "Spirit Break Out," "Happy Day" and "Beautiful One," Hughes' focus has been on church planting and leading Gas Street Church, a thriving church community but has never stopped writing and feels Gods call on him to focus on his own songs, alongside other worshippers.
Through "Make A Way," Hughes brings those years of life, ministry and pastoral experience back into his songwriting, creating music rooted not simply in what is sung on a Sunday, but in what faith looks like throughout the week, particularly when circumstances do not unfold as hoped.
