FOR RELEASE SEPTEMBER 3, 2026 — Rising Georgia-based metalcore band Heal The Hurt is back with a fresh nu-metal-inspired single, "Critical Error." Blending crushing riffs, soaring melodies, punchy vocals, and their signature emotionally raw lyrics, "Critical Error" gives voice to burnout from the relentless anxious pursuit of validation.
Formed by the belief that heavy music can be a mental health lifeline, Heal The Hurt has a reputation for confronting depression, anxiety, addiction, and hopelessness with unflinching honesty, while reminding listeners they don't have to suffer alone. "Critical Error" is the latest expression of that mission.
"I believed for years that success would finally quiet the voice in my head telling me I wasn't enough," frontman Trevor Tyson reveals. "That looked like more followers. More streams. More opportunities. More work.. But no peace."
After years of battling anxiety, depression, and severe burnout that ultimately led to hospitalization, Tyson realized he had built his identity around productivity instead of purpose. That realization became the foundation for the band itself and is captured with striking clarity on "Critical Error," streaming everywhere August 25, 2026.
Rather than offering empty optimism, "Critical Error" serves as both a confession and a warning to anyone else who has sacrificed their well-being to chase a version of success that never satisfies.
"In that season, I genuinely believed that if I just worked harder, built something bigger, or accomplished enough, I'd finally feel whole," says vocalist Trevor Tyson. "Instead, I found myself exhausted, anxious, and completely disconnected from the people I loved. It eventually landed me in the emergency room. Looking back, it really was a critical error in my life. This song is for everyone who's been told their value comes from what they produce instead of who they are."
Produced by Hunter Babcock (HolyName) and Ryan Leitru (For Today), engineered by Patrick Shekut (Convictions), and mixed and mastered by Aaron Chaparian (Kublai Khan), "Critical Error" is Heal The Hurt's most emotionally charged and sonically aggressive release yet.
The song follows a breakout year for Heal The Hurt. Their single "Ruin" was recognized by Revolver Magazine as one of the publication's "6 Best Songs Right Now," while the band has shared stages with Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm, Sleeping Giant, HolyName, Wolves at the Gate, Convictions and Bloodlines.
This fall, Heal The Hurt will embark on their first U.S. headlining run, the No Hope In Hell Tour — presented by KingdomCore and with support from Magdalene Rose and Unbroken Reign.
At its core, "Critical Error" is a reminder that our worth isn't measured by what we produce, but by who we are. Heal The Hurt aims to continue delivering that message to broader and broader audiences.
