ATLANTA, GA -- September 18, 2026 -- Victory House Worship, the worship ministry of Victory Church in Atlanta, Georgia, releases its newest single, "Returning," a declaration of longing, expectation, and hope centered on the promised return of Jesus Christ.
Following the release of "Rapha", a song declaring that God is still a healer, Victory House Worship turns its attention toward one of the central hopes of the Christian faith: Jesus is coming again.
Built around the imagery of Scripture, "Returning" captures the anticipation of creation, the expectancy of the Church, and the promised moment when Christ returns as King:
The earth is groaning for redemption
Creation reaches for her King
The heavens watch with expectation
For Him who was and is
And is returning
The song draws from biblical images woven throughout Revelation, Matthew, and Romans -- creation groaning for redemption, the Church preparing as a bride, lamps burning in expectation, the trumpet sounding, and every tongue confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord.
For Victory House Worship, the song was born out of a year-long sermon series as Victory Church walked line by line through the book of Revelation. At its core, "Returning" is the Church's response to the anticipation of the day Christ returns.
"The longer I write music for our church, the more I realize that writing songs our church loves to sing is more about listening than writing -- listening to what our church is saying, teaching, praying, and believing," says Sean Hill, producer and songwriter with Victory House Worship. "The best thing I can do is put a melody to what our church is already longing to sing. 'Returning' is the result of that kind of listening. After walking through the book of Revelation for a year as a church, this song became our natural response to what we saw and learned in Scripture."
That response finds its simplest expression in the chorus:
Come, Jesus come
Let heaven open wide
As glory floods the skies
Come, Jesus come
With fire in Your eyes
Returning for Your bride
As the song builds, "Returning" moves from anticipation to declaration, contrasting Christ's first coming with the glory of His promised return:
Though You came as a Lamb
You'll return as a Lion
Though You came to be slain You'll return slaying giants
When those words first filled the sanctuaries across Victory's Atlanta campuses, the response was immediate. Having spent the previous year journeying together through Revelation, the congregation erupted in worship, and Victory House Worship knew the song had found a home in the voice of their church.
The bridge then widens the picture, moving from the Church to the whole earth responding to the returning King:
Every knee has to bow
At the weight of Your glory
Every tongue will cry out
And confess You are worthy
Victory Church is home to people from more than 140 nations, a reality that gives particular weight to the biblical picture of Christ's return. Revelation describes a multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language standing before the throne and before the Lamb -- a passage that has long served as an anchor for Victory House Worship.
"Returning" culminates with a final cry from the Church to her King:
King of kings, Lord of lords
Shake the earth with Your coming
Take Your throne, take Your place
We await Your returning
Rather than presenting the return of Christ as something distant or abstract, Victory House Worship hopes "Returning" restores the return of Jesus to the vocabulary of worship and reminds believers of the hope that has sustained the Church for generations.
Jesus came. Jesus reigns. And Jesus is returning.
"Returning" is available September 18, 2026, on all major streaming platforms.
