NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company, the studios behind the faith-based hits I Can Only Imagine and Jesus Revolution, among others, are set to begin production on My Jesus, the emotional and heartfelt story behind multi-platinum Christian and country artist Anne Wilson's rise to fame and the breakout song that connected with so many, with cameras slated to begin rolling next month.

Kay Oyegun will direct the film in her feature directorial debut and has also written the screenplay, based on Wilson's book My Jesus: From Heartache to Hope. Kingdom Story Company's Joshua Walsh, Brandon Gregory, Andrew Erwin and Daryl LeFever will produce, with Jim Miller, Matthew West and Robert Deaton serving as executive producers.

The music-driven, coming of age film follows the inspiring story of Anne, a regular teenager who is driven by a life-altering moment to post a video of herself singing online, triggering an avalanche of response and catches the attention of executives across the Christian and country music industries. But finding her voice means Anne must also navigate the impact her gift has on everyone around her, including the changes it brings to her family and friends and the weight of her own expectations. Along the way, she must redefine how she views herself, her place in the world, her relationship with God and ultimately, her purpose.

Aliza Kate Barlow will play Anne; portraying Jacob is Gavin Casalegno, best-known for his star-making turn in "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and his recent turn in The Devil's Mouth. Monica Potter will play Anne and Jacob's mother, Lynn, with Charles Esten playing Kent, their father and Beau Bridges playing their grandfather, Bob.

"My Jesus" topped Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart and spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Christian Airplay chart, making Wilson the first female solo artist to lead the latter with a debut single since the chart launched in 2003. The deeply personal breakout ballad won the GMA Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year and earned a Billboard Music Award nomination for Top Christian Song, while her debut album of the same name received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.

ALIZA KATE BARLOW is a singer-songwriter and actress who grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. She will be making her theatrical studio motion picture debut as Anne Wilson in My Jesus. As a singer-songwriter, Barlow has performed live across the country and her original music has garnered over 2 million streams. She is represented by Artium Talent, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and attorney Ryan LeVine at Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

GAVIN CASALEGNO has starred for three seasons in the hit "The Summer I Turned Pretty," and is set to star in the theatrical feature based on the series. He most recently starred in The Devil's Mouth, the horror film produced by Lionsgate for Amazon Prime Video which hit #1 on the streamer's Top 10 Movies in the US. He is represented by UTA, Luber Rocklin and Skrzyniarz & Mallean.

MONICA POTTER, the veteran actress of the classics Con Air, Along Came a Spider and Patch Adams, as well as the long-running series "Parenthood," is represented by Gersh and Pop Art Management.

CHARLES ESTEN currently stars as Cain Ross on "Homestead: The Series" for Angel Studios and is well known for his long-running performances as Deacon Claybourne on ABC's "Nashville" and as Ward Cameron in "Outer Banks" for Netflix. He will appear in the upcoming feature films Flint, written and directed by Ryan Whitaker, based on the popular Western novel of the same name by Louis L'Amour and Drummer Boy, for Joel David Smallbone and Ben Smallbone. He is represented by Artists & Representatives.

BEAU BRIDGES is an award-winning actor whose career spans more than seven decades. A three-time Emmy and two-time Golden Globe winner, he currently recurs as Howard "Senior" Markston on CBS' acclaimed legal drama Matlock, starring opposite Kathy Bates. His extensive film and television credits include The Fabulous Baker Boys, Norma Rae, The Descendants, Without Warning: The James Brady Story, The Second Civil War, Masters of Sex and Homeland. Bridges is represented by CAA.

KAY OYEGUN is a writer and director who previously executive produced and helmed several episodes of the acclaimed television series "This Is Us"; she most recently served as writer and executive producer of Apple TV+'s miniseries "Imperfect Women" starring Kerry Washington, Elisabeth Moss and Kate Mara. She is represented by Underground and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.
