ZOEgirl
ZOEgirl

Artist Info: Discography
Album length: 11 tracks
Street Date: August, 2000

With all of the popular pop/rock contemporary Christian songs out there, there really hasn't been any change in style in the last decade (except for Jars of Clay's debut album). However, that all changed thanks to ZOEgirl. First of all ZOE means "life," which tells that ZOE and girl put together means three girls living their life for Jesus. With that background info said, let's talk about this album.

ZOEgirl opens up with "I believe," a pop song that talks about their lives before knowing Christ. "Anything is Possible" pumps it up with its haunting stormy sound effects and a fast pace beat. "Suddenly" continues the upbeat sugary pop, talking about how God is with you all the time. "Give Me One Reason" slows the album down with a very strong message to encourage holy relationships, while "Living for you" continues with a theme for worship but doesn't really seem to fit among the rest.

Already a radio hit, "No You" is probably one of the strongest moments on the album. "Little Did I Know" continues with a sort of country feel to it, the next two songs "Upside down" and "Live Life" carry on the power pop. After ten songs, the album closes with "Constantly." ZOEgirl's power pop style will have you listening to their self-titled debut a lot. So if you like to dance but really don't like the secular junk (Britney Spears) then you will want check ZOEgirl out.
