Jeff Deyo To Star In "The Imposter" Film Alongside Kevin Max
NEWS SOURCE: Kevin Max, a Jesusfreakhideout.com report
January 26, 2008
Kevin Max recently began on the production of an indie film entited The Imposter, in which the singer stars as
the main character. While the film takes a unique look at the Christian music industry, the plot involves a character is
a "more 'CCM' type member of the band" Kevin's Johnny C is in, and Max has announced that worship leader
Jeff Deyo will be making his acting debut
as that band member. Kevin writes...
"This marks my 12th day of doing about 12 hour days as Johnny C of Grand Design... it has been a wonderful ride so far...
I have learned many things, the greatest of which, is that I can act... when I put my mind to it... ; ) It is harder work
than I thought. Being a musician, a poet, a stage actor and a performer I thought it would be a walk in the park. I have great
respect for Indie Filmakers and the dedication and drive it takes to make a feature film in under a month. Many could not even
stomach it. The bad news is that it has taken its toll on my body today... I am currently congested and coughing up some serious
phlegm... But Dan Millican (Director), my friend Troy Baker (Producer and Actor) and the rest of the amazing crew and cast have
worked together and made this a great film thus far. Kerry Livgren (KANSAS) is playing Proff, a mentor of sorts to Johnny C,
and is doing a wonderful job for his first feature. Arianne Martin, who plays my movie wife (Tara), is an engaging actress
and Jeff Deyo is also making his film debut as the more 'CCM' type member of the band. Johnny C goes on quite a trip next
week. Up until today there have been major character building scenes, but the downward spiral is played out on the road next
with veteran actor Tom Wright (Forget Paris, 24, Law & Order, Creepshow, Honeydripper etc)...
Tom plays Popeye, a wandering vagrant who helps Johnny come to the light. Troy Baker (Commanche Moon, Striking Range)
played the corrupt label chief who tries to bring Johnny C in. It was fun acting with my friend. All in all, my actor trailer is
not glamorous, but I do have my own makeup team and the Craft table is always packed with hot coffee and scones. Life could be
worse. Until next, KM
ps. thanks to Troy for talking me into this. I really wanted to start working on new music, but I do believe it has opened a
door for me in the film industry. After we wrap The Imposter, I am scheduled to act in a film short being shot in
Northern California. I play an abused sociopath on death row, waiting lethal injection... yeah you could say it is a hyper-jump
into the arena... more later.
