The Scriptures have a lot to say about obstacles. One definition of obstacle is: "a thing that blocks one's way, or prevents or hinders progress." If you read the Bible, you discover pretty quickly that our God is a God of progress. It's His will that we would be constantly growing in faith, increasing in our knowledge of Him, and becoming more like Christ all the time.

Henry Ford, the American industrialist and founder of the Ford Motor Company, said this: "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal." I submit that for the Christian, obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the Savior. (Hebrews 12:1-3)

Because the Lord knew that we would face opposition from the world, our own flesh, and the devil, He made provision for us ahead of time, and the promise above is one example. As we are going about our daily business, focused on becoming all that God created us to be, and accomplishing all that He has called us to do - and we face resistance and opposition - the Lord intervenes and shouts to heaven and hell, "Remove EVERY OBSTACLE out of the way of My people!" And we witness Him moving mountains on our behalf. We participate in the process by praying, standing on His Word, and worshiping Him.

Look at these words of Jesus in the Message Bible: "If you embrace this kingdom life and don't doubt God, you'll not only do minor feats like I did to the fig tree, but also triumph over HUGE OBSTACLES. This mountain, for instance, you'll tell, 'Go jump in the lake,' and it will jump. Absolutely everything, ranging from small to large, as you make it a part of your believing prayer, gets included as you lay hold of God.'" (Matthew 21:21-22 MSG) Hallelujah!

Perhaps all you are seeing right now are obstacles. You are not reading this message by chance today, dear one. Take these words to heart, act on them in faith, and wait on the Lord to make a way for you where there seems to be no way!

Prayer: Lord, show me how to lay hold of You and all that You want me to have in this life, and in the next. Teach me how to pray believing prayers, to study and stand on Your Word, and to worship You in ways that You desire and deserve. Thank You that as I cooperate with You and Your purposes for my life, You will remove every obstacle out of my way!
