Behind the Song:
'I was driving one day taking my kids to school, and on my way home I passed a funeral procession that was traveling by. I pulled over to the side of the road, and just began to ponder about this whole idea of what if this was my last day on earth? So I sat down with that thought at the piano and just had this real haunting piano riff -it felt kind of mysterious and seemed appropriate for this song. This is one of those songs that I really didn’t want to finish the thought; I didn’t want to put the bow around it and say here’s the finished thought. I wanted to leave it open-ended so as people listen to it, they had that same emotion I had as I sat there that day. What if this is the last chance I have to say the things I want to say, to resolve things that need to be resolved? And how am I going to live this last day if this was it?
