“‘Freedom Song’ was written with Jorge Mhondera. I love when a song comes out of a relationship, a friendship that you have with someone, and Jorge is that with our family. He’s one of the most loving and encouraging people, and he has such a pure heart about him…[Jorge] brought this idea to us, and he happened to be in town, so Nathan and I said, ‘Why don’t you come over for dinner and hang out, and let’s just see if something will come out of this ‘Freedom Song’ idea.’ And it was [written] in our living room with Jorge from a real sweet place of friendship… I just love the idea that Jesus is our freedom song.”
