#15. Dave Barnes
Golden Days

Release Date: January 28, 2014
In my opinion, Dave Barnes is one of the most criminally underrated solo artists out there. Long overshadowed by his less-talented peers, he seeks to return with Golden Days, his first independent album since his debut in 2002. What's so exciting to me is that no matter how popular he is, I always know that he'll never stray away from the signature sound that he's known for. Barnes' latest collection is one of his best yet and is truly a standout release for 2014.
        - John "Flip" Choquette

Dave Barnes continues to craft and explore his own unique sound with each successive album, and Golden Days, his first independent studio record, showcases the singer/songwriter at his most personal element. It's enjoyable southern comfort at its core, and it's an early favorite of mine for 2014.
        - Roger Gelwicks

I love the sound of Dave Barnes' albums. He has a distinctive voice and he infuses his music with a groove that I never can quite pin down but I always enjoy. He's also a crazy witty guy. New Barnes music indeed makes for "Golden Days."
