It's a sad day in the neighborhood,
To see a man with a sign says 'will work for food.'
All his dignity left far behind,
Then the light turns green, and off we drive.
He's forgotten, as we go our way,
Just a fading image in the rear view mirror.
He's forgotten, if not for God's grace,
We could be there.
Forgotten.
A young mother on her own, trying to cope.
With 3 little babies, she's losing hope.
See, her man headed out, he's long gone now,
As she sits home alone, she wonders how
He's forgotten his pledge to stay
Through the good and bad, to the very last day.
Now they're forgotten as he goes his way,
Lives in despair,
Forgotten.
The Savior knows every broken heart,
He knows the lives that are busted and torn apart
He went to the cross just to bear our sin,
And He lives for those that are born again,
You're not forgotten, you're close to His heart
In His precious love we can all take part
He won't forget you, if call on His name
He's always there,
For the forgotten.
