Creatures Here Below - EP cover
03. Save Our Souls
Album: Creatures Here Below - EP
Artist: Altarheart

Are we the salt of the world
Or the salt in the wound?
Forgive us of our deeds
Lest we be consumed

We’ve been misled
Hate spewing into vulnerable heads
Judgement passed down
While we fashion our feeble crowns

What is faith if you think you’re always right?
In a cage when you’re always ready for a fight

Save our souls

Combative nature will escalate our imminent demise
A pompous pulpit spew to opposing points of view

Choose your words wisely
You never know who’s listening

Save our souls
No matter how far down we go
Tame our tongues
Until Your spirit fills our lungs

Destroying people and cultures without laying a hand
Uprooting causes with a self-righteous reprimand
Make enemies before you even meet
Hate you preconceive with your wicked speech

I’m sick of it

Save our souls
Save our souls

Are we the salt of the world
Or the salt in the wound?
Forgive us of our deeds
Lest we be consumed

Save our souls
No matter how far down we go
Tame our tongues
Until Your spirit fills our lungs
