Creatures Here Below - EP cover
04. Creatures Here Below
Album: Creatures Here Below - EP
Artist: Altarheart

Brokenhearted at the state of the world
Living jaded by the constant dissonance
Dying masses by the hands of a few
Jesus, help us, we know not what we do

Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Forgive Your creatures here below
We’ve built our altars all in vain
We’ve built our thrones on Your domain

I thought that we were smarter than this
Manipulated by influential men
I thought that we were better than this
Led astray by divisive rhetoric

Political interference
Pseudo-saviors will abound
Salvation through their allegiance
Cultic in every sight and sound

So, beware of false prophets
That divide you from your own
The love of God is not in them
They live and die on a dead throne

I thought that we were smarter than this
Manipulated by influential men
I thought that we were better than this
Led astray by divisive rhetoric

Don’t let their words cover your heart
Don’t let humans become your god

Forgive these creatures here below

Lack empathy
Bring entropy
Your hardened hearts don’t worship Me
Dust to dust and fire to fire
Everything will soon expire

Forgive these creatures here below
