I turned my attention
to the news on TV
tells of mortal affliction
by whatever we see

I felt in myself
such an urgency

Of a mighty magazine
full of angry looking pop stars
and airbrushed beauty queens
and next to each picture
is a caption that read
that your life would be better

and the message grows louder
as we fall further from grace

I'm started to think this world is broken
not to be restored before it dies
we are here to keep the whole world hoping
to keep it alive
