Premier worship collective, Hillsong UNITED, return with their long-awaited new album (April 26th). Featuring 12 live tracks, ‘PEOPLE’ was recorded in Sydney, Australia, which worshippers from around the world can experience thanks to the HD visual film which accompanies this release.
With millions of lives impacted spanning many cultural and geographical boundaries, UNITED is comprised of an evolving, eclectic mix of musicians and songwriters led by Joel Houston and Taya Gaukrodger (née Smith), who are committed to speaking the truth, creating a unique sound and connecting people everywhere with God.
“The hope for the project is simply understanding the power of music as a means of bringing people together, and letting it serve as a reminder that in our culture––the call to love our neighbour is a revolutionary act that perhaps rings louder now than ever,” says Joel Houston. ”If there's one thing that music can do better than anything else on earth, is its innate ability to unify people. It’s the essence at the heart of what UNITED has always been about––and what we want this project to represent more than anything––bringing people together, from every different walk of life, with all our differing experiences, circumstances, and perspectives––and finding songs that give us reason to sing as individuals with a common voice.”
Hillsong UNITED is a multi-award-winning, platinum selling artist whose chart successes (repeatedly no. 1 on Billboard’s Christian charts and up to #5 on Billboard 200) are only bested by the millions of lives they’ve impacted across the globe. Reporting over 50 million people singing from the Hillsong catalogue every Sunday, the modest band born from a youth ministry out of local church in Australia, touts a reach of over 10 million across all major social network platforms to date, including 2.1 billion minutes garnered from YouTube viewers.
For ‘PEOPLE’, UNITED have kept things simple; returning to where it all began. The record is truly all about the people we engage with everyday - those believers are called to reach with the Gospel and to whom we witness God’s unfailing love.
The record features three previously released tracks, including “As You Find Me,” “Good Grace” and “Whole Heart (Hold Me Now).” ‘PEOPLE’ is available now on CD, limited edition vinyl and across digital music platforms. The DVD features the full-length worship experience in HD, with an additional 6 bonus acoustic video performances and 15 language subtitles. (Product code: HMACDDVD355)
