Renowned, Macon, GA-based singer-songwriter JJ Weeks, known for writing and leading hit-making songs like “Let Them See You,” “Alive In Me,” “What Kind Of Love,” "Do Not Be Afraid" and most recently, “Choices,” is now offering “The Sound of Freedom.” The single hits digital retail and streaming outlets globally from Radiate Music today (Nov. 8) and goes for adds at radio beginning in January.

“Freedom comes out differently for everyone, but it is unmistakable when every chain hits the floor,” says Weeks. “Imagine standing guilty in front of judge and jury and your sins, condemnation, temptations, hopelessness, depression, not feeling like you’re enough, fear and whatever you may be dealing with is all laid out for everyone to see. Then, with one word coming from the corner of the room, it all vanishes because the King says, ‘That’s my child.’ That’s the freedom I’m talking about in this song!”

That’s freedom

That’s the sound of freedom

When your chains hit the floor

You’re not guilty anymore

(From the “The Sound of Freedom” chorus.)

The song was co-written and produced by GRAMMY-nominated, two-time Dove Award-winning “Producer of the Year” Ian Eskelin, who also signed Weeks to his first-ever, exclusive agreement as a solo artist earlier this year.

Playing the new song and fan favorites on the road, Weeks embarks on a Christmas tour before joining the Winter Jam 2020 tour, Christian music’s largest annual tour that launches January 10 at Jacksonville, Florida’s VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena and travels to 42 cities around the country before concluding March 29 at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland.

In addition to performing on the massive Winter Jam stage, Weeks will represent Holt International, sharing the mission and vision of this leading adoption agency during Winter Jam. The agency is dedicated to carrying out God's plan for every child to have a permanent, loving home through family preservation, in-country adoption and international adoption.

"We are very excited to have JJ Weeks representing Holt International at Winter Jam this year," said Eric Mason, Chief Development and Marketing Officer at Holt International. "On a recent trip to Mongolia, we had the chance to witness JJ’s heart and compassion for children and families in need, and we feel very blessed to have JJ advocating on behalf of orphaned and vulnerable children during this year’s concert series."

Playing 100 to 150 concerts coast-to-coast each year, Weeks has also toured with MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Unspoken, We Are Messenger and many more.

About JJ Weeks:

Labeled a powerhouse voice intent on “making a difference in people’s lives,” singer-songwriter JJ Weeks formed the JJ Weeks Band in 2001. The band went on to release seven acclaimed, full-length albums that sparked the Billboard Top 10 radio hits “What Kind of Love" and "Let Them See You," as well as songs that have been featured on the official soundtracks for both the high-profile films God’s Not Dead (“Save Us,” 2014) and Four Blood Moons (“Is It Ever,” 2015). Continuing his journey as a solo artist and touring coast-to-coast from his home base in Macon, GA, Weeks continues to write new songs and will announce more new music slated for release next year.

Eskelin's 20-plus-year resume in the music business, ranging from being a recording artist to a record executive, gives him a unique perspective in partnering with artists who are passionate about impacting culture with music. Eskelin, who has recorded more than 50 Top 10 singles in the United States alone, including 20 No. 1 songs, and whose songs have been licensed for use by ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN and many feature films, is looking to break additional ground with Radiate. In addition to Weeks, Radiate’s artist roster includes John Waller, Natasha Owens, About A Mile, Attaboy, Inspiration Worship, Pearl City Worship and Aaron Bucks.
