The 2020 Billboard Music Awards will be held at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre Wednesday, October 14 at 8:00 pm ET. Hosted by Kelly Clarkson, the show will air live on NBC.
Released in early 2019, VICTORY features the Dove Award-winning resurrection anthem “Living Hope,” co-penned by Bethel Music’s Brian Johnson along with Phil Wickham; the Christian radio hit “Raise A Hallelujah,” featuring Jonathan David and Melissa Helser; and singer/songwriter Josh Baldwin’s breakout hit, “Stand In Your Love.” Selections from the 14-track VICTORY recording were featured on Bethel Music's "The VICTORY Tour," which played to sold-out venues across the country last year.
“Raise A Hallelujah” was quickly embraced by listeners around the world, and held the #1 spot on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart for two consecutive weeks in the summer of 2019. Co-penned by Bethel Music worship leaders Jonathan David and Melissa Helser, “Raise A Hallelujah” was inspired by the 2 Chronicles story of King Jehoshaphat and the unlikely victory won by sending worshipers to the front lines of battle. Written while Bethel Music CEO Joel Taylor’s son, Jaxon, was critically ill with an E-coli virus, the chorus of “Raise A Hallelujah” came to the Helsers as they prayed for Jaxon. The song soon became a “weapon of worship” for the Taylor family, singing it over Jaxon for several weeks until he was restored to health.
To date Bethel Music has released 15 corporate worship albums, seven of which reached Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart, each carrying a unique expression of worship to inspire and unite the global church. Along with the label’s 11 Dove Awards, “This is Amazing Grace” was named ASCAP's Christian Music Song of the Year in 2015, with Cory Asbury's "Reckless Love" earning the same honor in 2019. “Reckless Love” was also nominated for a 2019 GRAMMY® Award and was Billboard’s fourth most popular Christian song of the decade.
In addition to touring and ministering globally, Bethel Music hosts the annual Heaven Come Conference; a one-week Bethel Music Worship Conference held on the campus of Bethel Church; and songwriting retreats in a personal setting with experienced writers. WorshipU, Bethel Music's online school of worship, offers ongoing teaching and training programs at worshipu.com.
