In 2020, Melanie wrote and released many songs to encourage and bless people, including "Heaven Coming Down" feat. Alisa Turner and "The Glory is the Lord’s" written with Michael Farren. "PSALMSONGS" will be different in that these scripture songs originated out of time Melanie spent with the Lord reciting the Psalms, finding strength, encouragement and peace.
The single, "Praise The Name," based on Psalm 107, is uniquely expressed with a mix of old and new sounds; unexpected and satisfying instrumentation.
Regarding "Praise The Name," Melanie said, "This song reminds and draws us in to praise and worship God even in the darkest times. My hope is that listeners will be blessed with the desire and ability to recall the scripture song throughout their day, strengthening them as they listen and sing these truths to themselves. I am reminded of Zephaniah 3:17, that says, ‘For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.’"
As part of her Kickstarter campaign, Melanie will be going live daily on Facebook and Instagram to encourage people in their faith journey.
Melanie has partnered with graphic artist and animator, Sarah Yarbourgh, to create a lyric video to accompany "Praise The Name" to be released later in March. For every $2,500 raised over the $15,000 Kickstarter goal, Melanie has committed to creating additional videos.
