Los Angeles, CA – October 4, 2022 – Island Def Jam/UMe celebrates the 15th Anniversary of Jon McLaughlin’s stirring debut album, Indiana, by releasing a remastered, digital-only 15 Year Anniversary edition on all streaming partners. Initially released in 2007, the digital-only deluxe edition features a new a cappella version of the title track “Indiana” featuring Straight No Chaser, as well as two as two b-sides from the original recording session, one of which has never been released. A CD and LP version will also be released at a future date. Indiana will be available to stream or purchase on Friday, October 7 HERE.

Indiana produced two singles, “Beautiful Disaster,” and “Human.” The lead single, “Beautiful Disaster,” was originally released in April 2007 and peaked at number 28 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart. The song was also featured in the 2007 movie Georgia Rule and the TV series A Little Thing Called Life. The second single, “Human,” found great success and was featured in the hit TV series Scrubs, Flashpoint, and Ghost Whisperer. All Music reported that Indiana was“packed with tunes that tackle love, loss, family, and friends with all the honesty and ardor of a young troubadour setting out to make his mark with nothing but a piano and some great pop hooks.”

In support of the 15th Anniversary of Indiana, McLaughlin will embark on a 19-city tour across the country, performing the Indiana album in its entirety with a full band beginning October 14, with special guest, singer/songwriter, and American Idol winner Kris Allen.

ABOUT JON MCLAUGHLIN:

Raised in Indiana and based in Nashville, McLaughlin brings all of his experiences and beliefs into each song he creates, which is especially true now that he’s the father of two young girls. Jon released his debut album, Indiana, in 2007 on Island Def Jam, attracting fans with his heartfelt, hook-laden songwriting and passionate delivery. McLaughlin has released six full-lengths in the years since Indiana and has revealed a true evolution in his piano playing and singing.

McLaughlin has played shows with Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson, and Adele, collaborated with longtime friend Sara Bareilles, co-written with Demi Lovato, and even performed at the Academy Awards in 2008. Jon’s album, Like Us, dropped in October of 2015 via Razor & Tie, and he spent the past few years touring extensively before heading back into his Nashville studio to work on new music. Jon released a Christmas EP in 2017 titled Red & Green with two originals and his take on a few holiday classics. In November 2018, Jon released his album Angst & Grace, which features “Still My Girl,” written for his youngest daughter.

Another project started in 2018 is his Dueling Pianos video series. Every episode features a new guest artist, and they perform mashups of never-before-heard arrangements. In Fall 2019, Jon released an instrumental piano album, MOOD. This record demonstrates Jon’s artistry and captivates his talent as a pianist. In May 2020, the project’s second edition, MOOD II, was released. Jon wrapped up 2020 with the release of his Christmas EP Christmas Time before putting out his most recent full-length album, All The Things I Say To Myself, with immediate fan favorites “A Breakup Song” & “Outta My Head.”

This Fall, Jon will hit the road with his band in celebration of the 15th anniversary of his Indiana album. The remastered, 15 Year Anniversary edition is available now digitally and spotlights a new a capella version of the title track “Indiana” featuring Straight No Chaser, as well as never-before-released b-sides.

As with everything he does, Jon’s goal is to create connections. He wants to translate his experiences and ideas into music that reaches fans everywhere. His passion for music and playing is evident in each note he plays.

ABOUT STRAIGHT NO CHASER:

If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures up an image of students in blue blazers, ties, and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses... think again. Straight No Chaser (SNC) are neither strait-laced nor straight-faced, but neither are they vaudeville-style kitsch. They have emerged as a phenomenon with a massive fanbase and a long list of accomplishments including 2 RIAA Gold Certified albums, over 1.5 million concert tickets sold, over 1 billion streams on Pandora, and over 2 million albums sold worldwide. Straight No Chaser is the real deal, the captivating sound of nine unadulterated human voices coming together to make extraordinary music that is moving people in a fundamental sense... and with a sense of humor.
