CHARLOTTE, NC — June 20, 2025 — Girder Records is thrilled to announce the long-awaited CD debut of two foundational albums from pioneering Christian artist Morgan Cryar: More Than Meets the Eye (1981) and Keep No Secrets (1984). Both titles have been fully remastered and are being reissued as part of the acclaimed Legends of Rock™ series with deluxe packaging and restored audio.

Pre-orders for both albums go live June 27 at 12:01 AM EST at GirderMusic.com, with an official release date set for September 12, 2025.

More Than Meets the Eye (1981)

Morgan Cryar’s debut album introduced the world to a songwriter with a gift for melody and a heart for ministry setting a new standard in early ’80s Christian music. Tracks like “Black Sheep,” “Break Me Like Bread,” and the title track deliver a potent mix of spiritual conviction and early ’80s pop/rock sensibility. The album features elite session talent, including Jerry McPherson on guitar, Paul Mills on keys and string arrangements, and Doug Pinnick (later of King’s X) on background vocals.

Produced by Jerry McPherson this long-lost classic is now available on CD for the first time ever, fully remastered for the Legends of Rock series.

What makes this release truly special is the roster of musicians:

  • Doug Pinnick (of King’s X) delivers soaring background vocals

  • Kemper Crabb contributes percussion and harmonica, adding earthy, medieval textures

  • Jerry McPherson and Paul Mills provide tight guitar and keyboard work, respectively

Keep No Secrets (1984)

A fan favorite that remained unavailable on CD for over four decades, Keep No Secrets showcases a more polished, introspective Morgan Cryar at the height of his songwriting craft. From the energetic “I Get Carried Away” to the powerful and poignant duet “Holy Fire” featuring Jayne Farrell (Farrell & Farrell), the album blends thoughtful lyrics with slick pop-rock arrangements.

Adding major musical credibility, Marty Walsh—renowned guitarist behind Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” and Donna Summer’s “She Works Hard for the Money”—lends his talents to the record, along with Christian AOR production legends Jonathan David Brown and John Andrew Schreiner.

Both albums are part of Girder Records’ 2025 Legends of Rock™ series and come with deluxe packaging, remastered audio by Rob Colwell, and updated design by Scott Waters. These reissues celebrate not only the music, but the lasting impact of Morgan Cryar’s artistry and message.
