NEW L.S.U. RECORDING DROPS THIS FALL
NEWS SOURCE: L.S.Underground, a Jesusfreakhideout.com report
September 4, 2008
We have to admit it's been quite some time since we've heard the name "L.S.U." (aka Life Savers Underground).
Michael Knott has been making music for decades and a new LSU project is in the works for this Fall. Here's the band's announcement from
their MySpace page...
Michael Knott has recorded a new L.S.Underground with Joshua Lory, Jim Chaffin (the Crucified, the Blamed), Matt Biggers, Casey
Prestwood (Hot Rod Circuit), Daniel Sonner, and Rick McDonough. It has been in Michael's heart to create an album that would bring
awareness to the overwhelming difficulties that U.S. and allied troops encounter upon returning from combat, especially
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. PTSD, the leading cause for homelessness as well as alcohol and drug abuse among veterans,
is a psychological as well as neurological disorder, and must be dealt with in order for the soldiers to get the treatment that
they need, and deserve. This is a heavy subject matter that needs to be addressed and brought to the surface as an honor to those
who have served their country. A weighty subject matter that is pulled to the front line by the heaviest L.S.Underground album
to date. Michael feels this is the most important record he has done since "This Is The Healing"
Michael is offering a pre-sale order until October 15 for those who would like to financially help finish and manufacture this
album. For $12.00 you will immediately receive a photo copy of a few songs from his lyric books, signed and numbered (in pencil
and pen), you will then receive the finished product following completion (around late October to early November). Recommended
purchase is one to ten albums. Please pay via Paypal to gerardartwork@yahoo.com
About Michael Knott and LSU
One of many Michael Knott projects, L.S.Underground is his darkest and heaviest. Formed in 1987 Knott set out to do a new kind of
gospel music, outside of the lyrical box of most Christian or mainstream artist's. The album "Shaded Pain" changed the whole game
of the underground Christian market fusing goth and punk with dark, meaningful lyrics expressing how some people were really
feeling, only to afraid to express it. Seven albums followed each with it's own personality, the spiritual revival of "Wakin'
Up The Dead", the healing from "This Is The Healing", then into a new realm of story telling on "The Grape Prophet" and later
on "Dogfish Jones", "Cash in Chaos/World Tour" explores a very dark side of life, continuing on only to be uplifted by the spirit
on "Grace Shaker", to the most stripped down record of his career on the world crumbling "Finding Angel". A new album is in due in
Fall 2008.
