Twenty-three year old Koti Hu was born in Taipei, Taiwan and at the age of four came to the U.S. with his family. With a heart for music, it wasn't long before he'd begun playing the violin, piano, and finally guitar. In 2002, Koti released his self-titled debut, a unique worship album that truly stands out from the majority of the genre today. The album is an intricate, multi-layered rock and synth-powered pop-worship record. Koti's strong vocal performance is steady and controlled, a breath of fresh air for a lot of worship music. While many worship leaders write music that is a little more simplistic to be more appropriate for use with congregations, Koti Hu weaves songs that are not only songs of praise but songs that are interesting and intriguing in their own right. Songs like the upbeat and catchy "Revolution" are hit-worthy while songs like "Here" have a lasting quality that worship veterans like Matt Redman or Martin Smith have become known for.
If you need something a little different for your worship collection, treat yourself to a copy of Koti Hu and get ready for intimate worship with your Savior.
