Vice Verses is one of those unique records that seemed to represent a band doing what they do so well at their very best, while also giving plenty of meaningful lyrics to chew on. From the blistering guitars on opener "Afterlife," to the anthemic longing for the streets of heaven on the closer "Where I Belong,"
Vice Verses is a fantastic album. The title track is even one of those surprisingly vulnerable and intimately minimalistic songs that doesn't usually win the title of an album. That track and the finale in "Where I Belong" are a beautiful one-two punch that leaves the listener with a lot to ponder. This is one of my favorite albums (and my favorite Switchfoot album), and "Where I Belong" wonderfully, emotionally, artfully and passionately captures my own heart's cry.
