VERSE 1
Clean the slate for another day
We’ll make the old one steal away
I’m so ready to make this change
We must get back to higher ground
If we could just stay in the now
Oh, we’ve got to move on
Press on for the upward call, babe
Let’s not get torn down
Or come back here again
Leave it where it falls
And if it keeps calling
You say

CHORUS
Memory, you’re a lying cheat
Come down from the mountain
Fall into pieces
Waste time when you’re talking to me
I’ve been to the cross
And laid down the grief
There’s no life in the history
And sorrow is a wound
That doesn’t want healing
Next time that we happen to meet
I won’t think twice
Won’t think twice
I won’t think twice

VERSE 2
How much more could you have to say?
You make a scene and start to play
Oh, you think I won’t release it all
Give me the strength, Lord, to walk away
To let it go and make it stay
Oh, so we can move on
Press on for the upward call, babe
Watch, don’t get torn down
We won’t come here again
Leave it where it falls
And if it keeps calling
You say

CHORUS
Memory, you’re a lying cheat
Come down from the mountain
Fall into pieces
Waste time when you’re talking to me
I’ve been to the cross
Tasted the freedom
No life in the history
And sorrow is a wound
That doesn’t want healing
Next time that we happen to meet
I won’t think twice
I won’t think twice
I won’t think twice
