As I rest beneath this tree,
I see all I could be - and more
The fruit looks good to eat,
but something's whispering - to ignore

As the bark digs in my spine,
it's racing through my mind - what I could know
Could I be like the Divine,
and turn water into wine - oh

The Folly of the Fall, to chase the Siren's call
I reach to take it all, but it's not there

As I place it on my lips,
it dries up to a crisp - I choke
Fear has me in its grip,
I know I cannot live - or hope

It's illusion slips away,
the intoxication fades - to black
Now I see it plain as day,
this mistake that I have made
there's no, going back again

The Folly of the Fall, to chase the Siren's call
I reach to take it all, but it's not there

So I believe, the lie:
Fulfilling my desires is, my right
that if I overthrow I will, not die
that no one really cares

And so I run, to hide
hoping I can disguise, my evil side
somehow prolonging this, my breakneck ride
that's plunging to my death

The Folly of the Fall, there's no reward at all
Yet I cling to what is false, all over again
