VERSE 1
Isn’t it funny that money is how we judge a man’s success
Even though they always say that it can’t buy your happiness
Well let’s look what can it get, it can get a man’s respect
When they see that necklace round your neck it took you grands to get
And if you got plans for sex but aren’t interested in love
Long as your checks are big enough I bet your checks could be enough
All those fine designer clothes will let them know you’re on your game
And that Rolex on your wrist, white gold just like your chain
And they say what’s in a name but we all know what’s in a name brand
A movement that influences young students all to take stands
For material possessions so exclusive
And if you’re a man with lesser besta bet you’ll get excluded

HOOK
It’s for the money, hey, it’s for the money
Everything you ever wanted, everything you ever wanted
It’s for the money, hey, it’s for the money
Everything you ever wanted, everything you ever wanted
And that mainstream name brand tells them you’re a great man
We don’t know the soul though, can’t see through the Ray Bans
Chasing cabbage half the planet is a waste land
But everybody’s doing it so hey it’s ok man

VERSE 2
I got these Beats by Dre, they’re so exclusive
And if you don’t rock the same up in this game you’ll get excluded
The truth is that we use this to determine social status
And you’ll get left behind and side lined if you don’t have it
It can feed your habits and just let you wallow in them
And won’t nobody judge you for those pills you’re swallowing
If you afford them then you’re good and you’re just as people should be
Drug and sex addicted but you’re rich so that’s a good thing
The diamond on your ring it blings your finger looks so pretty
And the people killed to get it really isn’t such a pity
When you see that look of envy plastered on that hater’s mug
And he’s like where’d you get your stone it looks expensive and I love it
It feels good when they covet cause it lets you know you made it
And that fat price tag it doesn’t matter cause you paid it
Seems that money’s for displaying, all this money for the taking
They don’t mind the cain you’re raising if you’re raking in the bacon like

HOOK

VERSE 3
Seems that money’s for displaying, all this money for the taking.
They don’t mind the cain you’re raising if you’re raking in the bacon
Making man to stand above the law, you want respect then what’s your job
That shirt you always dress in’s so expensive such humongous costs
Oh man you’re such a boss, I can tell by what you floss
Look at all that stuff you bought, one can tell your budget’s large
And Jordan pairs are sorta rare among those who aren’t wealthy
Afford a pair and get your iPhone out and take a selfie
Post it up online and let the whole world know you’re balling
Bet those ladies who don’t have the time they will when money’s calling
So let them know you’re all in and they all gone be your friends
Least long as you got those bens they’re gone like bad trends when it ends
And the funny thing of money is you can’t take money with ya
Social standing stands abandoned when the spirits come to get ya
And it really don’t make a difference what those fancy pants cost you
You’re still naked like the rest of us soon as you take them off you
