Behind the Song:
I don’t want to talk about the double meanings of this song, but I’ll talk about this line. “we’re buying debt on credit and it can not last” is primarily talking about how man did not give himself life nor does he dictate it’s beginning or end. In this light our time on earth can be viewed as a line of credit that was given to us as gift. Unfortunately our response to this is to use our credit to accumulate dept which is a metaphor for sin. - Josiah Hughes
