“Okay, so originally I didn’t want to record this song back in 1998, but in the last decade, it has come to mean something very different to me. The lyric was written based on a conversation C.S. Lewis had once about how in each of us there is a vacuum, if you will, that HAS to be filled. And we try to fill it with sex, drugs, money, food, alcohol, injury, busyness, laziness, people, work… anything that can be a quick selfish fix.
