
Legendary rock band The Choir released their new album, Translucent, last year, but it has only been available through their website and Bandcamp... until now. As of this Friday, the album will be getting a wide release to streaming services. Check out their official announcement below:
"Translucent has been only been available exclusively through The Choir’s website and Bandcamp. Now, we’re releasing it worldwide to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, YouTube and all the other streaming and download platforms this Friday January 31st!
All the support from buying the CD, vinyl or download directly from us really helped us out - it’s a big deal. You all came out in force for this album and we are grateful!
But, if you also listen to music through streaming apps, we need your help once more. On this release weekend, please stream the Translucent album there as well. When you’re listening, add the songs to your library or a playlist, give it a “like” or “thumbs up” or recognize the music however that platform allows. If enough folks are sharing and responding to the music in a positive way, it triggers good things to their algorithm and can potentially push it out for better discovery. Seriously, simple engagement like this moves the needle for independent artists

We’ve had some interest from College radio over our Translucent album. Seems like there’s a number of specialty shows that air ambient post-rock music. Seattle’s KEXP featured the song “Plastic Swords” this past weekend on their show Pacific Notions. You can stream that same broadcast for free through the KEXP app or on their site HERE.
Keep an eye out for some online shows from us. We’re upgrading our studio to be better set up to broadcast multi-camera and multi-tracked live streams. Lisa is learning to master the Black Magic Cinema camera for the main view and setting up other cameras to switch for additional angles. We want to be able to mix down the tracks for audio only releases as well as sync to the video performances to put up on YouTube. We’ll be taking requests, so think of a good set list!"
