#10. Ellie Holcomb
As Sure As The Sun

Release Date: February 18, 2014
Who's Ellie Holcomb, you ask? She's Drew Holcomb's wife, a subsequent "Neighbor" of his band, and my new favorite singer/songwriter. She combined traditional methods with a fresh pop flair, and As Sure As The Sun is a noteworthy result. It's another successful Kickstarter campaign on our list, and I can't wait for the public to hear it.
        - Roger Gelwicks

Fans of Nashville's indie scene and folks who caught one of Needtobreathe's recent tours should know of Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, but Ellie Holcomb is a gifted singer in her own right who has been largely under the radar for now. As Sure as the Sun is her time to shine, with lovely, pop folk songs straight from Scripture.
        - Jen Rose

The better half and musical partner of Drew Holcomb (Of Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors) is a fine songwriter in her own right. Featured on Andrew Peterson's annual Christmas tour this year, Ellie Holcomb sings in a "high and lonesome" Appalachian voice that sounds older than her years. Early returns from Sun are promising, and a new favorite record might be just around the corner.
        - Alex "Tincan" Caldwell

I supposed Ellie Holcomb was kinda left out of the name of the band Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, since, as Drew's wife, she wasn't a neighbor. But she was never unnoticed. She's a word-of-mouth success story, and it's well-deserved. I've looked forward to her latest for months, and now that I have an advance, it's been in frequent rotation on my personal playlist.
        - Mark Geil
