Behind the Song:
“It’s just a warm look back at dc Talk, a warm feeling toward Michael (Tait) and Kevin (Max) and the beautiful side of what we did together, and recognizing their influence on me. I love what I do today, but there are times when I wonder, What if we stayed together? I’ve got these dreams I’m pursuing now, but are they stealing me from you? I think about Kevin and Michael on every song I write. That’s the truth.

“Musically, I think the song is interesting because we wanted it to be this bombastic drum sound against these live horns that felt very ’60s. I think it’s just a cool music-scape.”

(On Relient K’s Matt Thiessen’s guest vocals): “I signed Matt and Relient K to the deal with Gotee (tobyMac’s record label) about the time when I went solo, but we’ve only started getting closer in recent years, hanging out with them a little more. Matt and I kept talking about him guesting on my record. I thought that was a cool song to be on, first of all because he was a dc Talk fan. I just thought it would be a cool nod to get Matt on there. Plus, Matt’s voice is so warm that it really helped make the song even better.” - tobyMac
