NASHVILLE, TN (January 20, 2026) – Alabaster Grace has released their latest single, “Word of God,” to Christian radio, offering a worship experience that is both musically distinctive and theologically rich. Blending acoustic textures with subtle Middle Eastern influences, the song invites listeners into the opening truths of the Gospel of John, proclaiming Christ as eternal, divine, and redemptive.
Alabaster Grace is the husband-and-wife duo of Brad and Joanie Perry, whose uncommon background brings a rare depth to their worship music. Brad is an award-winning former NASA rocket scientist who once trained astronauts and worked on designing the International Space Station. Joanie is a former educator and the duo’s primary lyricist. Together, they approach music ministry with intentionality, precision, and reverence, believing that worship deserves the same care and thoughtfulness as any other high calling.
“Word of God,” written by Joan and Brad Perry and produced by multiple Dove Award winner Chris Bevins, was born during a season of focused Bible study. Drawing directly from John chapter one, the song centers on the declaration, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God,” affirming Christ’s eternal nature and His role as Creator, Light, and Savior. The lyrics move naturally from theology to worship, celebrating Jesus as Messiah, Redeemer, King, and the Lamb of God who laid down His life for the world.
As Joanie Perry explains, the writing process led her to reflect deeply on the names and nature of God, which in turn revealed the magnitude of Christ’s sacrifice. That journey shaped a song that not only exalts Scripture but also encourages listeners to engage more deeply with it. The hope behind “Word of God” is that it would spark curiosity and reverence, prompting hearts to return to the Bible and rediscover its truth, with the Gospel of John as a natural starting point.
Musically, the track is as intentional as its message. Bevins also serves as keyboardist and assembled a team of respected Nashville musicians, including drummer Dan Needham, guitarist Mike Payne, and bassist Jacob Lowery. Together, they created a soundscape that feels ancient and current at the same time, echoing the Holy Land through layered acoustic elements and global rhythmic textures. Brad Perry’s guitar work weaves throughout the arrangement, complementing Joanie’s expressive vocals and reinforcing the song’s reflective tone.
With lines that proclaim Christ as “the light in the darkness” and “the Word made flesh,” “Word of God” speaks to a world searching for meaning and hope. The song stands as a reminder that before anything was made, God was already present, and through Jesus, that eternal Word stepped into humanity to bring life, light, and redemption.
