DAYTON, OH -- November 6, 2026 -- Independent alternative pop-rock duo Dragons & Astronauts has officially released their brand-new holiday single, "On The First Day Of Christmas (I Wrote A Song In D)". The track serves as the lead preview for their upcoming six-song Christmas EP, 12:25. The single drops today, Friday, November 6, available first exclusively on Bandcamp, with a wide release on all major streaming services coming soon.

This seasonal project serves as the direct creative follow-up to their acclaimed June 2026 full-length album, Broken Parables, and its companion book, Music And God: The Broken Parable of Dragons & Astronauts. Known for blending catchy alternative hooks with deeply honest spiritual themes, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Josh Vest and guitarist and vocalist Aaron Cheadle shift their lyrical focus toward the complex emotional landscape of the winter season.

"Aaron and I understand all of the emotions that surround the Holidays," says Josh Vest. "We cover them all, from joy to sadness to melancholy...The first single covers quite a few...Can't wait for you all to hear it, God bless!"

The EP deliberately targets the layered reality of the season -- juxtaposing festive nostalgia with internal reflection.

"John Mark Comer wrote that 'Sorrow and joy intermix in this life while we wait for Jesus' return to make all things new. There's always something to be grateful for. There's usually something to grieve as well", notes Aaron Cheadle. "That's what we're trying to capture and express with these songs."

12:25 Tracklist:

1. Like A Kid Again

2. Silent Night

3. Next Year

4. On The First Day Of Christmas (I Wrote A Song In D)

About Dragons & Astronauts:

Formed in Ohio, Dragons & Astronauts is an alt-pop-rock act rooted in a narrative of faith. Reunited after a twenty-year falling out, Josh Vest and Aaron Cheadle create "pop rock parables" designed to confront internal battles while reaching for hope. Driven by a purpose larger than music, the duo translates their art into action by dedicating all project proceeds to support the fight against canine epilepsy via the AKC Canine Health Foundation.
