For nearly a decade now, Kings Kaleidoscope have proven to me to be one of the best and most creative bands in existence. Constantly evolving, they have yet to disappoint me, whether it's the Mars Hill-style alternative worship or it's hip hop/influenced alt/pop, they're always on the money.
Zeal falls into the latter category, and it has some of the best work they've done yet. I love the energy of "Hero Over My Head" and the worshipful reverence of "Same Blood" and "Oxygen." And the three-part "The Rush" is a magnificent piece of work that even made for possibly my favorite moment ever at a live show.
Zeal is wonderful, and if their next album can top it, my brain just might explode.
